The Tension Between Principles and Divine Intervention

Starting and growing your own business is challenging. The nuances regarding land/office space, finances and accounting, product/inventory, marketing, time and scheduling are a few of the categories that we face. The world and culture have many messages written into how we think about and “do” business. From “location, location, location” to savvy marketing tools to start-up costs and business plans, these messages direct us down the same road of potential success. Follow these and you hopefully won’t fail. What about your design and calling? How does who you are designed to be, the gifts you’ve been given, and the calling you seek to fulfill intersect with this? There is a tension that’s present. The tension between your design and calling and the expectations of the culture. What demands do we yield to? In this class we will explore personal design mixed with cultural demands regarding owning and running your own business. We will examine and practice walking out the tension that exists between the two and how to understand and apply God’s principles (culture) and His intervention (Spirit). This will be a meld of exploring what the world says the business model looks like and expects and how Good intervenes in the midst of your business.

I am passionate about unpacking design in individuals and seeing them grow into their full potential. Identity, belonging, and purpose are inherently inscribed by the Father. Understanding and agreeing with what He writes takes work, trust, and exploration. Exploring the application of individual design to a growing business or applying it to grow your business is a passion of mine. As a business owner for 11 years I have learned and continue to learn how the Father intervenes in all aspects of business and intersects that with our personal design. Let’s go on a journey together.
